Phantasmagorical Freek Friday by KM Wilsher

RAINING AND OK
I have grown to love the name.

You have to check these guys out.

I'm going to take a break from the head banging, the Goth, the Metal, and the alternitive this week because Jeff, my buddy and brother in Christ, turned me on to an up and coming mega group called: RAINING AND OK. . . . Well, maybe a little head banging;-)

If RAINING AND OK were a dish, the recipe would call for one part Hoobastank, one part Goo Goo dolls, one part REM, and one part Jars of Clay. Then cover that with a sauce made up of unique, modern and relevant. And lastly, top it all with a sound that's altogether their own. RAINING AND OK adds a punk edge to a modern rock sound as they soar through desirous melodies that grab at your heart and stir the longing in your soul.

Their new album: "Always will be" debuts this week, February 9.

The songs that hooked me were "Endless Love" and "The Devil on Your Shoulder".
I've heard from their friend and mine, Jeff, that they are Christian, and Christ is brilliantly reflected in some of their lyrics:

Lord, I am a filthy man
I lay my heart upon your hands
or
Love, tear your walls down
Love, take this crown upon my head
Love, bring our enemies to rest and I'll take a bow
When will we sing? And when won't we fight?
OR
God I hope I fight this through.

Click below to preview the music on their MySpace. You can listen to several songs. I am torn for my favorite - a tie between "The Devil on Your Shoulder" and "Endless Love", but I really like "Send Your Angels Down" too.

Wow. I listened to them. Your description is spot on! They are really good.

This morning, on GMA (good morning america) they played a snippet from GREASE II...."Let's Bowl." I've been singing that stupid song all morning. I'm gonna have to dig out the movie to see the cheesy part where they are dancing in the bowling alley. LOL

I'm still hooked on Adie Camp and 3 Doors Down. I think I'm gonna drive my sweet hubby insane by listening to the songs every single day, like, ten times a day. *LOL*

Right on Lynn! I hope I did RAINING AND OK justice! I just fell for them.

I don't know Adie Camp, but I do like 3 Doors Down - ROCK ON! ---- poor hubby. . . hee hee

I liked Endless Love. Cool, driving stuff.

I'm not listening to much of anything this week. Well, maybe that's not true. I dug into some of my early-90s indy stuff and pulled out Belly's "Star" CD. I love the songs "Angel" "Feed the Tree" and "Dusted." You definitely have to be in the right frame of mind to listen to that stuff though.

Otherwise, my hubby and I worked on new material last night for the novel soundtrack. I need a drummer gosh derndit.

Kat, Did you know I was a drummer? Well, I haven't been on a set in a while but, yep, too bad I'm not in your neck of the woods! Surprise I was really hitn' it in the late
'80s-- received a full ride scholarship that I blew off to hit the big time ;-( I was going to be Sheila E. hee hee

Yeah, Endless Love, I like Raining and OK! I haven't heard Belly. . .I'll have to search them out!

Well, good luck laying down tracks. Can't wait to hear them!
