Word Wednesday

WORD WEDNESDAY. A day to post words about the Word.
What are you reading this week?

I have been urged to study about God's love for me. Think that would be a no-brainer after He sent His Son to die for me, that I might have everlasting life in His lands. . .

Alas, it is not. Whether it is my nature to feel that I am unlovable, or I have been nurtured to think that I am unlovable, that is my burden. Thus my quest is to learn to accept love, fight hard to see love and let myself give love without obligation.

My quest starts with the word of God. My pop culture sends me images to the opposite.
This week this verse stood out to me.

PSALM 33:15-18
NO KING IS SAVED BY THE SIZE OF HIS ARMY

NO WARRIOR ESCAPES BY HIS GREAT STRENGTH

A HORSE IS A VAIN HOPE FOR DELIVERANCE

DESPITE ALL ITS GREAT STRENGTH, IT CANNOT SAVE

BUT THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE ON THOSE WHO FEAR HIM

ON THOSE WHOSE HOPE IS IN HIS UNFAILING LOVE.

A little reminding of his love does us good! "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin." Ex. 34:6,7

compassionate and gracious
slow to anger
abounding in love a faithfulness
maintaining, maintaining love to thousands. . .(that means it has started and IS ongoing . . .)
forgiving wickedness (- forgivness, my biggest gift -) rebellion and sin. (Not just sin, but rebellion also.)

Yes, I drain this verse of all its Spirit, Ash. . .it fills me up. Thanks! Great reminder of His love :0)

What a great post! I love the visual aids. :-) I also like what you said about not knowing if it is nature or nurture that provides the struggle. The point is that it is there. But God loves us so much that he continues to show us over and over in so many ways. And he gives us each other to encourage and remind. Thanks for sharing! I needed to hear this today!

yes, Lori, He gives us each other to encourage and remind. I like that. Of course, another gift from Him :0)

No better place to start than in His Word, and I find the Gospel of John to be the best place to learn of Jesus love, as John was the closest to Him.

I've been reading Matthew 28, and have been really ministered by Jesus saying that He will be with us always, even until the end of the age.

Loved those photos with verses showing that our strength ain't gonna cut it.

Wow... those pictures go with those words so perfectly. I wish this had showed up on my dashboard, because I could've used it the other day.
Thanks for posting it!
