Off to the Rockies to watch the Huskies' last playoff game! They haven't lost at all this season. This game decides what teams play for the state trophy. How fun is that!? Have a great weekend all! See you the middle of next week.
I am grateful today for my nephew, my family, air travel, football, and COLORADO!
How about you? On Black Friday what are you grateful for?

AUTHOR BIOS
The Holiday Series
November a month of gratefulness
Author Bio Study
As I was submitting my short stories around the net, it surprised me that many places asked for an Author Bio. I mean I was just submitting short stories. Author Bio’s were for Dekker and Peretti, right? So, on the fly, I had to come up with an Author Bio. Whew?!
So this study is to get you thinking. Do you have one? What kind of things make a flashy author bio? Or should it be flashy at all?
While we study, get to know some of my favorite writers:
One major thing I am grateful for is the many talented writers in the Lord has brought into my life. I am lucky to have found the some of The King’s most faithful daughters and can now claim them as friends. So in this series I not only want to study Author Bio’s, but also showcase them.
And now, my fellow CHRISTIAN WRITERS OF THE WEST member, sister in Christ, and fantasy writer, Michelle Gregory.
CLICK HERE FOR HER BLOG: BEAUTIFUL CHAOS.
CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE HER BOOK: ELDALA
Michelle Gregory grew up in Tucson, Arizona. From an early age she loved reading and writing. She received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1987. In early 2005, she thought she’d like to write. By October 2005, she could hardly stand the thought of not writing, so she signed up for National Novel Writing Month, and joined hundreds of other people around the world in the attempt to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Almost two years later, she had a novel.
Michelle and her husband of twenty-two years reside in Mesa, Arizona, and enjoy raising their three children, and indulging in frequent getaways. In addition to pursuing her dream of being a writer, Michelle home schools her children.
What would you say makes a good author bio?

FAITH LIKE POTATOES - MOVIE MONDAY
This week I am thankful for stories that boost my Faith. I love stories about fiery faith, one's that stir up passion in my love for Jesus. This is not a fantasy or SciFi movie, but you have to see FAITH LIKE POTATOES. Just look at the trailer:
The best "come to Jesus" moment on film. Most believable and most touching.

And now, Kat Heckenbach: CLICK HERE FOR HER BLOG
Kat Heckenbach is a freelance writer, homeschool mom, and magna cum laude graduate of the University of Tampa (Biology). Her short fiction ranges from light-hearted fantasy to dark and disturbing. I grew up in the small town of Riverview, Florida, where I spent most of my time either drawing or sitting in my "reading tree" with my nose buried in a fantasy novel...except for the hours pretending my back yard was an enchanted forest that could only be reached through the secret passage in my closet...
I never could give up on the idea that maybe I really was magic, mistakenly placed in a world not my own...but as the years passed, and no elves or fairies carted me away...I realized I was just going to have to create the life of my fantasies.
Now I share that life with my husband and two kids. Ok, maybe "share" isn't the right word--more like live that life in my writing and try my best to be normal the rest of the time.
I graduated from the University of Tampa--Magna Cum Laude, B.S. in Biology (yep, I'm a science geek, too).
I spent several years teaching, but never in a traditional classroom--everything from Art to Algebra II (yep, I'm a math geek, too)--and now I homeschool my two kids.
My writing spans the gamut from inspirational personal essays to dark and disturbing fantasy and horror. (You didn't honestly expect me to say "romance" did you?)
____**THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF KAT'S PUBLISHED STORIES!
"The Gift"--short story in Digital Dragon
"The Artist"--short story in Mindflights
"Sparrows"--short story in Einstein's Pocket Watch
"Willing Blood"--Editor's Choice Award in The Absent Willow Review
"Eyes on the Hilltop"--short story in CFOM

Curse of the Spider King: The Berinfell Prophecies Series - Book One
NOVEMBER CHRISTIAN SCIENCE FICTION AND FANTASY BLOG TOUR
Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper’s Curse of the Spider King, Book 1 of the Berinfell Prophecies
Do remember during KM Wilsher's BLOG DAYS OF SUMMER series we did a survey of "back cover blurbs? I don't think I've ever read a better back cover blurb than this one.
The Seven succeeding Elven Lords of Allyra were dead, lost in the Siege of Berinfell as babes. At least that's what everyone thought until tremors from a distant world known as Earth, revealed strange signs that Elven blood lived among its peoples. With a glimmer of hope in their hearts, sentinels are sent to see if the signs are true. But theirs is not a lone errand. The ruling warlord of Allyra, the Spider King, has sent his own scouts to hunt down the Seven and finish the job they failed to complete many ages ago.
Now 13-year-olds on the brink of the Age of Reckoning when their Elven gifts will be manifest, discover the unthinkable truth that their adoptive families are not their only kin. With mysterious Sentinels revealing breathtaking secrets of the past, and dark strangers haunting their every move, will the young Elf Lords find the way back to the home of their birth? Worlds and races collide as the forces of good and evil battle. Will anyone escape the Curse of the Spider King?

First up, Lori Lundquist. Lori used to live in Arizona. I am hoping she will again someday. This girl has a great love for Christ and it shows in her life as well as in her writing. Lori has been a great inspiration to me both spiritually and artfully. I am so excited about the things she is sharing over at DRY GROUND. You have to check out her Vampire devotional series!
And now: Lori Lundquist
Lori Lundquist writes diverse, redemptive novels in several genres including historical romance and fantasy. She’s also the author of Dry Ground (lorilundquist.blogspot.com), a blog site featuring original articles highlighting spiritual lessons garnered from popular literature and movies such as How Reading a Vampire Book Brought Me Closer to Jesus. She is a wife, a hiker, a reader, a photographer and an amateur nomad/explorer. For now, she lives in Knoxville, TN (for the second time), but don’t worry, that will change. Maybe one day she’ll live close to you.
Check out her Vampire devotional series!
HOW READING A VAMPIRE BOOK BROUGHT ME CLOSER TO JESUS.
My fellow writers, do you have an Author Bio?

10th Kingdom and Dune
THE HOLIDAY SERIES
November, a month of gratefulness
Today I am grateful for my opinion - and yours! Why?
See, I like funny fantasy. For instance, THE PRINCESS BRIDE. I have watched it a handful of times and would love to meet Inigo Montoya. Who doesn't love to hear him say: My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
I don't watch PRINCESS BRIDE very often, but I do revisit A KNIGHT'S TALE over and over and OVER again. Chaucer? I think we are long lost soul mates. (UG, I always fall for the bad “unavailable” guys. Not the main hero ready to fall in love. Okay. That is a whole different post for a whole different day LOL)
Here are some of his best moments:
Or the KING'S GUARD. You have to see this one. KING'S GUARD is a sort of marriage of A KNIGHT'S TALE and THE PRINCESS BRIDE.
However, after many years of finding 10TH KINGDOM and DUNE highly ranked on lists like: “Top Fantasy Movies of all time”. I finally rented them. Neither one played in my DVD player longer than 10 minutes. Hokey at best. . .
Should I be ashamed? As a Fantasy/Sci Fi/Allegory/Paranormal/Speculative FREEK, why could I barely get through the first scenes of these movies?
Is it only that they are old movies? Would I like the books? Have you seen them?
Advice please, fellow fantasy lovers.

SUBMISSIONS
THE HOLIDAY SERIES
November, a month of gratefulness
So I finally submitted to THE CROSS AND THE COSMOS. That is what I am grateful for today. The guts and time to submit!
Have you heard about this online magazine? Fantasy. Science Fiction. You should visit just to see the art! All glorifying Jesus Christ.
CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE CROSS AND THE COSMOS:
THE CROSS AND THE COSMOS is a brand new source for Christian Speculative Fiction. I can't figure out just how, but it is connected to Jeff Gerke/Marcher Lord. I mean I think someone else runs it, but he is involved. (If you know, let me know!)
Anyway, check it out.
Where have you submitted your Christian Sci-Fi and/or Fantasy lately?
