You know I always like to compare long hikes to the journey of life as well. Sometimes there are long hard climbs straight up and sometimes you get a small break in the form of 10 ft. of level hiking.
I also feel very close to God when I hike. I am proud of you for going alone and I can't wait to join you when I get back from TX.
God always speaks to me while I hike as well. Thank you for sharing your experience, KM, and the words He spoke to you. Love and miss you. Write... and hike... on!
Quite the parallels in here, KM! I'm glad you made it to the top. I have a feeling that in the bigger scheme of things, you'll make it to the top, as well. =)
Ooh, I'm reminded of a quote...
"Aim at Heaven, and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth, and you will get neither." -C.S. Lewis
Keep aiming at heaven, KM! I'll do my best to do the same.
Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.

Sometimes the easier path simply doesn't exist. Sometimes the easier path is hidden because for reasons we might never understand.
I love hiking and walking because it gives me time alone with God, too.
Thanks for the prayers you've said for me over the past few weeks. They've been appreciated!
Michelle, what a sweet surprise. Hope your trip is wonderful!
Miss hiking and writing with you, Lori. We've got to get the gang together for Sedona this year. . .hike and write!
Kat, great thoughts. You always have great insights. Praying you are healthy and happy! Missed ya!
Wow, that looks like a tough trail. I love hiking. The time to think out there is a blessing.
Sorry I haven't been by more often, I've been so swamped! I missed your blog :)
Nicely said, sister!
Walk on, my friend.
