This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
— Psalm 34:6 (NIV)
While standing in the middle of the dark forest, sometimes I forget to remember that he has saved me. Saved me so many times in so many ways. And I forget that all those
“Worst things that could happen” never happen.
And if they ever do? He will save me. Psalm 34:6
Our church did a gift survey. You know, an assesment that helps identify your specific spiritual gifts. I was surprised that one of mine was Faith. I mean look at the above paragraph.
Have you ever done a Spiritual Gift Assesment?
What Gifts of the Spirit are strong in you?

I did a gift survey at my old church, and was not at all surprised by the results--teaching. I worked as a tutor for years and now homeschool. And one of my goals as a writer is to eventually lead writing classes. Half the reason I want to get published is to have the credentials to teach writing to others!
The gift of faith is a great gift, KM. I don't think that's my strength.
I don't know if my gift is specifically named...I guess I'd call it "support". Encouragement might be the closest gift to it.
No, my church has never done that but I think I'm with you ... faith, and you know what, I wouldn't have it any other way !!!
I'm involved in a gift assessment study right now! So I will let you know. Your post today spoke deeply to me, KM. THANKS! And thanks for exercising your gift of faith. It's beautiful!
Nice post.
I did take that assessment thing at our church. Faith, Serving, and Encouragement were my top three.
Thanks for this, KM!
I love these comments! Better than the post :O)
